We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL Database Engineer/Administrator to design, manage, and optimize our database systems. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in PostgreSQL internals, performance tuning, complex SQL development, and database architecture. This role will involve collaborating with development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL database servers.
- Monitor database performance, implement tuning, and troubleshoot bottlenecks.
- Manage database backup, restore, archiving, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, functions, triggers, indexes, and stored procedures.
- Support application teams with query tuning, schema design, and performance debugging.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MS SQL administration and development.
- Strong expertise in performance tuning, query optimization.
- Knowledge of Dynamic SQL would be an added advantage.
- Experience with high availability, replication, failover, and backup/restore mechanisms.
- Candidate must be good at writing Logical PG-SQL queries based on the scenarios, identifying client issues in production server and also must be good at writing and modifying existing procedures and functions as the requirement.
